With the women’s season concluded, TopDrawerSoccer presents the postseason player rankings. Utilizing many different factors, from statistical brilliance to contributions to team success and impact in big games, here are the top 100 players of the 2023 season.

1. Lexi Missimo, Texas – In what is likely Missimo’s last collegiate season, the Texas star shattered all sorts of records with 26 goals and 20 assists. The goals were second most in the country, while the assists led the nation. And for big-game impact, the First-Team All-American scored twice in the Big-12 Final before notching another two goals and assist in the Longhorn run to the Round of 16.

2. Brecken Mozingo, BYU – With the numbers and team accomplishments to back up her highly entertaining style of play, Mozingo was at her best all season as she led the Cougars in goals with 14 and assists at 15. What was most impressive was as the games got bigger, the dynamic playmaker shined brighter with a goal contribution in 15 of the last 17 games to lead BYU to a second College Cup.

3. Eleanor Dale, Nebraska – The 28 goals Dale scored somehow do not do the incredible season she had justice. Consider that only two goals were penalty kicks, and eight were game-winners. Then there is the absurd quality of some of the goals the British striker scored. Dale was unstoppable, from long-range volleys to diving headers and bicycle kicks.

4. Onyi Echegini, Florida State – Arguably the best player on a loaded Florida State team, Echegini led the Seminoles in goals with 16 and tied for the lead in points with 37. And true to form in the biggest game of the season, the Nigerian international scored and assisted in the 5-1 final demolition of Stanford.

5. Jasmine Aikey, Stanford – Unfortunately, the margin of victory in the national final may lead some to overshadow an incredible Cardinal season. At the core of the one-loss run was Aikey, an athletic and technical lanky attacker who had a career year with 11 goals and 12 assists. Most impressive was that the Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year registered a goal contribution in the last eight games, including an assist in every NCAA tournament game, clear evidence of a player who peaked when the games mattered most.

Leading the way was the ACC with 20 players occupying the list, followed by the SEC at 13, then the Big-12 and Pac-12 tied with 11 and the Big Ten at 10. In total, 19 conferences made up the list.

For individual teams, Florida State was the most represented with seven players, followed by Stanford with five, then BYU, Clemson, Saint Louis, and Texas Tech tied at four. In all, 58 programs had at least one star on the list.
