Spire Institute is a unique athletic training facility located in Geneva, Ohio, that combines academic education with sports training. However, SPIRE has chosen to hold off on having soccer as a part of the full time academy program and will instead be focusing their efforts on hosting summer soccer camps. This is a great opportunity for student athletes who are seeking to improve themselves over the break.

Although this will not be the first time that SPIRE has offered summer camps, it will be the first time that their camps will be geared towards a larger audience. SPIRE has offered soccer camps in the past, but because SPIRE is a new institution the gatherings were much smaller. This time, there will be a larger appeal.

“We have offered camps before, but they were much more locally focused. Now they will be far reaching with a national and international audience,” said SPIRE Soccer Director Jamie Smith.

For this reason, players can expect great things from the summer soccer camps at SPIRE Institute this year, and those who have attended previous camps can expect the experience to be at a whole new level.

Now that SPIRE is attempting to expand and focus its efforts, it will be the first time SPIRE uses its facilities to its full potential for summer camps. As a new institution that is fully equipped with the latest and greatest equipment and facilities, SPIRE has much to offer. SPIRE’s camps will be run by quality staff who are at the forefront of their game, placing players in capable hands. Smith described the staff as “passionate, trained professionals who are enthusiastic about what they do.”

SPIRE also boasts FUEL, the specialized food program offered to all students and campers, both boarding and non-boarding (a great perk for athletes at an overnight camp).

Players can expect a lot from SPIRE’s summer camps this year. In describing the camps, Smith says that there has been a very positive and enthusiastic response from past campers and that this year’s soccer camps are expected to be even better than before. He stated that once players attend, they “will be part of a program that has thought out everything necessary to total player development.”

Players will train daily, and receive a comprehensive performance evaluation at the beginning of camp in order to maximize player growth. The goal of SPIRE’s camps is to develop players into the best athlete that they can be through rigorous mental and physical training.

Beginning in June of 2012, and running through the beginning of August, SPIRE Institute will be holding the first of its summer soccer camps. SPIRE will be offering both general day camps as well as specialty camps that are position specific and are geared towards goalkeepers, attackers, midfielders, and defenders. There will be two specialty camp sessions, both of which offer boarding and non-boarding options.
